Startup Advisor and Journalist
Anna Shen is a startup advisor and journalist and also currently writes about start-ups, venture capital, technology and CEO thought leadership for the Huffington Post, Fortune Magazine, and other publications around the world. She is an active mentor to many startups, incubators and accelerators including Village Capital, the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, Singularity University’s Global Solutions Program, and the Plug and Play Innovation Center.
Anna has also worked for several start-ups, providing strategic advice, raising capital, and building partnerships. One was in the Fintech space; its mission of providing banking services to the world’s poorest provided an alternative to money transfer services such as Western Union. She also launched a news service with the former Chief News Executive of CNN. Prior to this, she worked at the United Nations and the World Bank.
Anna received an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Management (international business), and a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
